Erotica Revealed Reviews Blind Seduction
Toeing the water of erotic romance with my novels hasn’t been easy. Much of what I write, I’ve come to realize, is a little too explicit for the average reader and my sense of love and romance is far too different to earn an immediate connection with said readership as well. I have, at times, been disheartened by the reception I’ve earned.
But the reviewers of Erotic Revealed get what I’m doing. No doubt, they get it because they’re coming from a similiar vantage point, one where the erotic word is a focal-point asset to a larger story. I’m very thankful to Jean Roberta who delved into Blind Seduction and examined its contents and approach in what could prove to be the most thorough review I’ll ever receive. I hope all now and future readers of my work will spend some time with Jean’s review and carry its sensibilities into their reading experiences with my novels.
I don’t often get to talk about my love of erotic literature and my writing, but All Romance eBooks and podcast hostess Cat Johnson allowed me to delve into my passions during an interview we conduct at 2009’s Book Expo America, the publishing industry’s key trade show. It was great fun. Cat was a wonderful, engaging interviewer and hostess and I enjoyed myself greatly — almost as much as if I’d been in a room full of bibliophiles!

My goodness, but I’m a lucky woman. Fellow author Ashley Lister not only jumped on the chance to interview me in the spring, but he took time out of his busy schedule to review Inequities for Erotica Revealed as well. I’m thrilled he took to the book like a duck to water — sorry to be so cliche-dependent! — but you might be surprised how often erotica is in the eye of the beholder. (Ack! Another cliche! What’s wrong with me?!)
Seriously, one reason I went the e-book route was that no print publisher wanted to see a novel about a dominant woman. No one wanted to look outside the box. Thank you, Ashley, for being such an open-minded reviewer.
What? Another cliche? OK. That’s it. I’m quitting while I’m ahead. (Dang!)

Sometimes, you just have to be a little zany. That’s why I agreed to show fellow author Alison Tyler my panty drawer. I tidied up and, yes, I think pink goes well with black leather.
The things I do for publicity! And I love every minute of it.
Never get too excited about an interview. That’s what I tell myself now about Audacia Ray interviewed me for her (sadly now-defunct) blog, Naked City, at The Village Voice. I was so enthusiastic that I came out sounding damn dyslexic. Which I am, in a borderline fashion.
Nonetheless, Dacia asked me a range of interesting questions, from generational shifts to ebooks v. print to blogging then and now. It was a lot of fun and I hope you’ll bookmark Naked City or grab the feed for continued reading.
Fellow author Ashley Lister invited me to partake in his new ERWA column, Between the Lines. His keenly targeted questions were largely aimed at one of my published short stories, but we also talked about Inequities and the differences between the short story and novel. Much to my surprise, I discovered I had some expansive answers for him.
So much of my writing life is solitary — almost hermetic, really — that I really treasure the opportunity to talk about the writing process. It was a sheer delight.
